The farm-to-glass movement is booming in Frederick County. Home to the Maryland Craft Beer Festival, Matador Network named Frederick one of the Top 17 Cities in the World for Craft Beer. If you’re looking for a charming farmhouse-turned taproom or a brew tour with out-of-town visitors, farm-brewed beer is a growing agricultural economy – and local is in.
Frederick County opened Milkhouse Brewery at Stillpoint Farm, the first farm brewery in Maryland under the new law passed in 2012. Since then, several more have opened providing beer lovers with a truly unique farm experience. Farm breweries use an agricultural product grown right on their farm – whether its grain, barley and/or hops, and they brew smaller batches. You can find Frederick County’s farm brews all across the region.
