Each Fall, The Frederick County Office of Economic Development’s Agricultural Business Council, in conjunction with the Great Frederick Fair and the Ag Education Public Relations Committee recognizes a Frederick County family for their outstanding achievements in agriculture. Frederick County Farm Bureau and the Frederick County Farm Safety Camp partnered with Dairy Maid Dairy to provide over 1,500 gallons of milk from area dairy producers to the Frederick County Rescue Mission and food banks throughout the County.

The COVID19 pandemic is impacting farmers that sell to restaurants, schools and through farmers markets. American Farmland Trust has recently launched a Farmer Relief Fund to help farmers weather this storm of market disruptions caused by the coronavirus crisis. Farmers can apply for cash grants up to $1,000 each, eligible applicants include small and mid-size direct-market producers.
